In the past, Facebook and Instagram, now under the Meta umbrella, faced numerous challenges, including bugs, hacking, and significant system damages. 

Despite encountering such obstacles, the implementation of a unified protocol has aided in maintaining and rapidly improving their userbase. 

However, ongoing issues persist. Users have criticized the platforms for negligence, unjust account disabling, and inadequate responses to hacking attempts.

Additionally, the company has found itself entangled in legal actions initiated by multinational corporations. These incidents have brought to light the core problem of inadequate staffing to effectively oversee their extensive operations and controls.

As more continue on Tuesday March 14th a new headline came to press release;

A tough time for big tech workers continues. Meta's first cut somehow wasn't the deepest. Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday in a written statement that the tech giant would lay off 10,000 more workers, adding to the 11,000 people it laid off back in November.

More cut even after the first one. This cut from Recent is one of the reasons that hurt to the back and has made it worse and even more difficult to reach anyone of support units.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the infamous rebrand to Meta last month. Though some speculated the move was to distract from the ongoing scandal, Zuckerberg claimed that Meta was a better representation of what the company is working towards, since the firm has long since branched out beyond the platform they were previously named for.

He said: “Right now our brand is so tightly linked to one product that it can’t possibly represent everything we’re doing today, let alone in the future. Over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company, and I want to anchor our work and our identity on what we’re building towards.”

This aforementioned metaverse refers to the next revolution for the Internet as a whole: it’s a digital space that melds virtual reality with the physical realm. From virtual reality to augmented reality, this metaverse seems to be the logical next step into the digital world, and Meta is now taking the lead. The metaverse is a joint effort, with video game platform Roblox, Microsoft, and Snap among the firms invested in the cause. Whether or not Meta and company are successful? We’ll all have to wait and see.
